“There has to be a very strong movement of people demanding ‘We will not stand for this type of financing of candidates,’ and to get the corporate money out of politics and then to be able to take actions and close all these loopholes, that the corporations ar …
Mitt Romney released his tax returns to put to bed discussions of his wealth and lack of transparency. Instead, they have only spawned more unanswered questions.
Creationism, that zombie of the American political scene, rises again — this time in Indiana:
Standing steadfast as the most socially right-wing candidate in the GOP presidential field, Rick Santorum has repeatedly touted his extreme anti-choice position, which dictates that abortion should be uniformly illegal, even in cases of rape or incest.
Obama left out the most important issue in his State of the Union speech tonight - Obamacare and matters pertaining to life and death! For example, the president failed to mention his new ruling - demand for abortion and contraception support by Catholic hospitals and C …
cactusflower18 I am so glad to hear that you believe this
Govt was not created to control, regulate and run our lives or businesses
So you are saying that women should have the right to get an abortion and that gays should have the right to get married, and adopt children. Because right now our government is regulating the last two and if the right has its way they will regulate the first thing I talked about. I am not trying to change the subject, I am trying to point out that you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you want government out of our lives for health care, you have to let things like I mentioned alone. Unless you mean to say the you only what the government not to regulate the things that you don't like and screw the rest of us....
I apologize for not getting back to you. I did not see your request until today, heck, I did not know this part existed. Newsvine is my first blog experience.
My answer (& I did go back and post it on the blog) is that I don't think govt has any business regulating any of the 3 things you mention and many more you didn't mention.
I have a question: Did I say something in a difference comment to make you think
Unless you mean to say the you only what the government not to regulate the things that you don't like and screw the rest of us??
Thank you,
I didn't think that anyone was all that interested. I will fix that pronto. I appreciate the feedback.

The Newsweek cover was unnecessarily unflattering. I doubt Newsweek would portray a male candidate with such a lunatic expression on his face. As much as it pains me to admit it Bachmann is a legitimate candidate and major magazines should treat her like one.
Brown is drawing the ire of the tea party for selecting a photo of Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) for Newsweek's cover that makes the 2012 Republican hopeful look, well, crazy. If the shoe fits......
Why isn't this all over the vine... the republicans with their Debt Deal hostage taking has tanked the economy.. all the gains from 2011 wiped out... GONE. Now we see what the republicans want for our country...
My sister received this email. Don't know where it came from. I haven't checked the math. I do like the sentiment of the rant though...Why are we, the middle class, the only ones asked to "share the sacrifice". Charity begins at home... Now I am sure there …

Over the years, much has been made of the fact that liquor laws, and liquor taxes, in Utah are set by a body composed mostly of people whose professed faith eschews the use of liquor.
With Congress just back from a week's vacation, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., indicated Monday that Republicans want to change the subject.
Numerous examples of silly laws or violations of liberty permeate the code's 5.5 million words; these few simple examples are but the tip of the proverbial iceberg.
This person is saying that buying American is bad for the economy. He says that we should buy the cheapest item without sacraficing quality even if it is made somewhere else. In essence he is advocating slave labor that they practice in other countries versus what we …
"They are going to demagogue us, and it's that demagoguery that has always prevented political leaders in the past from actually trying to fix the problem. We can't keep kicking this can down the road," Ryan said on FOX News earlier this month. "The president has punted.
once again we see that republicans are against public safety
The offer for support from the federal government ran out Saturday, and Utah joins eight other states in their not taking the offer. Governor Gary Herbert says the federal money would require the state to spend more money, which he opposes in a tight budget year.

"I just don't think it's right," said James Gain of Kissimmee, Fla., one of the lawsuit plaintiffs who got a ticket last year while driving between his home and Greensboro, N.C.
So here is one time that the republicans can fix a mistake and they want to keep the bad bill in place. So much for "listening to the people"
In a state where politics, religion and culture are so intertwined, that fight itself could have huge repercussions.
